Le manuscrit est d\u00e9pos\u00e9 et, m\u00eame s\u2019il reste beaucoup \u00e0 faire, c\u2019est une \u00e9tape majeure dans un chantier commenc\u00e9 il y a plus de quinze ans.<br><br>Ce projet c\u2019est&nbsp;: un corpus \u00e9tudi\u00e9 de plus de 120 \u0153uvres r\u00e9parties sur deux si\u00e8cles, plus de 50 entretiens et correspondances d&rsquo;importance, des dizaines d\u2019autres rencontres, des heures et des heures dans les archives, la lecture de milliers de journaux non num\u00e9ris\u00e9s, des portes ouvertes et d\u2019autres difficiles \u00e0 entreb\u00e2iller, des refus de travailler gratuitement en certaines occasion, des relations d\u2019estime et d\u2019amiti\u00e9\u2026<br><br>Il n\u2019y avait que des fragments d\u2019inventaire \u00e0 La Roche-sur-Yon, j\u2019en ai construit un \u00e0 destination des collectivit\u00e9s concern\u00e9es. Le r\u00e9sultat a largement d\u00e9pass\u00e9 ce qui \u00e9tait connu. Je n\u2019ai compt\u00e9 ni mon temps libre ni mon argent d\u2019ailleurs. Il s\u2019agissait en premier lieu de mettre \u00e0 jour l\u2019existence des \u0153uvres et, parfois, de replacer les artistes dans le jeu public. Ensuite est venue l&rsquo;id\u00e9e de raconter l\u2019art \u00e0 travers la ville et la ville par le prisme de l\u2019art. Un projet scientifique o\u00f9 le sujet d\u2019\u00e9tude devient un exemple type de la question de l\u2019art public en province. La Roche-sur-Yon par rapport \u00e0 La Roche-sur-Yon n\u2019aurait eu qu\u2019un int\u00e9r\u00eat limit\u00e9, j\u2019ai souhait\u00e9 contextualiser ce cas dans une perspective plus globale.<br><br>\u00ab La route est droite, mais la pente est forte \u00bb disait un grand philosophe de notre \u00e9poque.
